About TJ Cade Law, LLC

We are a Boutique Law Firm, located in downtown Lake Worth, Florida. Our office is a storefront, half a block east of Dixie Highway on the left hand side of Lucerne Avenue, with convenient parking across the street. We provide services in family law, criminal defense, and estate planning. Our office hours are from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm on weekdays, with evening and weekend meetings available by appointment.

I, Tyler Jaymeson Cade (“TJ”), am the attorney, and I am blessed to have Karyn Miller as my paralegal. Karyn is a real asset to our clients and the firm, with nearly 20 years of legal experience and immense knowledge. As a team, we keep up with new technologies to improve our efficiency and the quality of our service.

We originally operated under the name of Abramschmitt Law PLLC, incorporated in August 2012, and opened our doors in October the same year. We later incorporated as TJ Cade Law LLC in August 2016. Before being in private practice, I enjoyed serving the indigent population of Broward County as a Broward County Assistant Public Defender for four and half years. There I worked on cases ranging from juvenile misdemeanors and felonies, to adult felonies, representing clients on criminal charges up to and including second-degree murder.

We have covered cases from Miami-Dade to Martin County, as far west as Naples and as far north as the panhandle area. Although the bulk of our practice is local to Palm Beach County, with a few cases from Broward and Martin Counties, we consider cases throughout Florida on a case by case basis.

The TJ Cade Law, LLC Difference

All our clients have their own stories and experiences, and even if two cases look similar on the surface, the human component of people as individuals makes each case unique in its own right. This is the main reason why communication is key. Each client deserves to have their case and concerns addressed based on what they are going through and how they are experiencing their case. We believe that the solutions and options presented should be tailored to the needs of each client individually.

One aspect that makes us second to none is the personalized attention we give our clients. At our firm, you deal with real people, not robotic phone answering systems. Moreover, every client has my personal number with access to me, through call or text at all times. Going through any sort of case, whether a dissolution, a criminal case or even estate planning, gets people very anxious, as they often do not understand the complexities law. We believe that communication is essential in helping break down the process in terms the client can understand, helping to alleviate some of the inherent stress of a legal case. Ultimately, the clients make decisions on the direction of their case. We help our clients navigate those legal waters by helping them understand the steps of the process, their options, and sharing what we recommend when applicable. The client gives us the direction they wish to go in, and then the baton gets passed to us to represent them effectively and diligently.

This is more than just a job to both myself and my paralegal. Karyn and I share a passion about helping people, fairness, and seeing justice the system, which sets us apart. I am passionate about representing clients’ positions in their cases as we move them forward, giving each one the best representation I can. I often think outside the box and aim to bring creative options and solutions to customers whenever possible. I really enjoy making a difference in people’s lives. My goals and plans for the future are to continue doing that. I believe if I stay true to that goal, the rest will build itself successfully.

My personal involvement with clients, my communication, and my passion distinguishes me from many others in my profession, which keeps customers coming back. I have been told that clients chose me because I care and am readily available to answer questions and address concerns. I take my time to listen and aim to craft solutions tailored to their needs and desires.

I was twice published in legal journals before graduating from law school, one of which was a peer-reviewed journal. One of my papers was presented at an International Conference in Trinidad & Tobago during the last semester of my second year. I did graduate fourth in my class at Florida International College of Law. I also earned the Dean’s Merit award each semester for maintaining a high grade point average, received award for having the highest grade in four classes, and was also awarded the ALI/ABA Scholarship and Leadership Award.

As a public defender I, of course, enjoyed receiving promotions. I was promoted to felony division after only three months in the juvenile division. The experience I gained as an Assistant Public Defender has been invaluable to my overall legal practice. As a result, since I started my private practice, I have enjoyed steady growth and the building of a regular client referral base. Client referrals are, according to me, the absolute best compliment and highest mark I can receive as a legal professional.

Alongside all the work and people we handle, we also care about animals. When we first opened in August 2014, we adopted the oldest cat at Peggy Adams, a local non-profit animal rescue. We named him Law Cat, made him Chief Executive Legal Counsel, opened top a Facebook Page where he accumulated a nice following. Law Cat lived at the office and was well loved by both clients and the local community. We often found treats thrown through the door’s mail slot in the mornings, as well as toys. His executive digs at the store front window gained him much local popularity. He even had regular drop in visitors. Sadly, Law Cat passed away of complications from old age in March 2018. He was 18 years old. We now have two rescue dogs who are also often found at the office. Picasso, a 10 pound bundle of love who comes in with Karyn, and Monet, who is my little 4.5 pounds nugget of love.

We understand that many times, situations do not wait for your finances to line up. In an effort to help as many clients as possible, our rates are set $50 per hour below the predominant local hourly rate, and our initial retainer is set at $1000 less than the predominant local minimum retainer on family cases. Criminal cases are taken on a flat fee basis, as are Estate Planning cases. We do offer payment plans to accommodate clients who are unable to provide the full retainer or flat fee up front. Payment plans are discussed on a case by case basis and are designed to accommodate as many clients as possible, while remaining fair to the firm. We have also supported local charities such as Peggy Adams, a local police non-profit association, local non-profit no kill animal shelter, local non profit legal organizations, and we are also a proud the sponsor of a local women’s soccer team.
